Housing

The City's Community Development Division (CDD) works to ensure safe, decent, and affordable housing for Madison residents. CDD partners with developers and non-profit agencies to: increase affordable housing options; provide help to homeowners, renters, landlords and property owners; and support individuals experiencing homelessness. Through these efforts, CDD enhances household, neighborhood, and community stability.

CDD collaborates with agencies to support people experiencing, or at risk of, homelessness.

CDD provides financing to develop safe, affordable housing for low- and moderate-income households. This includes both rental and owner-occupied housing.

Resources on rights and responsibilities, discrimination and fair housing, training opportunities, housing search support, and other support programs for tenants and landlords.

CDD supports sustainable homeownership for current and potential homeowners. CDD also provides resources to help renovate existing rental housing.
