Profile, Statistics and Indicators
Neighborhood Description: The Sprecher East Neighborhood is located on Madison's far east side and includes the neighbors in the Door Creek and Reston Heights subdivision. The purpose of the neighborhood association is to represent the neighborhood's interests to government officials/staff and provide a social outlet for the neighbors. Any resident within the neighborhood boundaries may be a member and membership is always optional. The Sprecher East Neighborhood Association (SENA) is not associated with any of the Homeowners' Association or Condo Associations it encompasses or borders. Sprecher East is located adjacent to one of the newest parks and wildlife preserves: Door Creek Park and Nature Preserve. Door Creek Park is a 115-acre community park. The Master Plan for the park includes athletic fields, playgrounds, picnic areas and shelters, tennis and basketball courts, shore fishing, winter ice skating and ski trails, winter and summer trails both linking to Dane County's regional trail system.
Neighborhood Boundaries: Interstate 94 to the north, Door Creek Park to the east, Sprecher Road to the west, and Cottage Grove Road to the south, excluding a rectangular parcel east of the homes on High Cliff Trail and east of the Door Creek Apartments as defined by the official map provided by the City of Madison. The Sprecher East Neighborhood Association includes the following homeowners associations - Reston Heights, Door Creek, and the Meadowlands. It also includes the Door Creek Condo Association and other condos and apartments within its territory.
Neighborhood Statistics Indicators: The Neighborhood Indicators Project is a demonstration of key characteristics and various indicators that relate to the quality of life in Madison at the neighborhood level.
