Profile, Statistics and Indicators
Neighborhood Description: Agate, Diamond, Jade, Onyx and Turquoise AND Bob-o-link as well as Chickadee and Goldfinch are some street names of our hidden gem of a neighborhood. Rolling Meadows, located on the east side, is known for its tree-lined streets, abundant parks, and caring neighbors of young to old. Across Milwaukee Street to the north is a community park, Hiestand, which has one of the best sledding hills in Madison and one of two disc golf courses! Strolling down our neighborhood streets you will observe a housing stock built in the 1960s and 1970s. Ranch and split-level ranch homes with majestic trees and well-manicured lawns are typical. Plus, you will hear children playing and seniors conversing since our neighborhood is home to both young families and those that have spent their whole lives in their first home. Our elementary school-age children walk to Kennedy Elementary School (located on the eastern edge of the neighborhood). We can walk to neighborhood-based professional offices and services. We have easy access to Milwaukee Street, Stoughton Road (Highway 51) and the I90 System.
Neighborhood Boundaries: Milwaukee Street on the north, Meadowlark Drive and Flora Lane on the east, Cottage Grove Road on the south, Vernon Avenue and Stoughton Road on the west
Neighborhood Statistics Indicators: The Neighborhood Indicators Project is a demonstration of key characteristics and various indicators that relate to the quality of life in Madison at the neighborhood level. Basic neighborhood information as well as housing, public safety, health and family well-being, economic, and transportation indicators by neighborhood is available.
Neighborhood Events: Earth Day Event, Annual Party/Ice Cream Social, Movie in the Park, Neighborhood Association Brat Sale
